Christians’ Fields Set on Fire

Two Christian families in India have had their fields set on fire by extremists in the area.

The two families became Christians some time ago, much to the dismay of the radical Hindus. Previously they had been threatened and they were even beaten up. After they still didn’t renounce their faith, the villagers set their agricultural land on fire.

The loss of the fields will devastate the believers' livelihoods. One local Christian leader said, “They are farmers and this harvest meant so much to them. Every year they kept some food grains for their consumption and sold some part of it to meet their other needs. They are greatly are traumatized at the moment.”

Despite what has happened, the families are strong in their faith. They say their faith cannot be compared to earthly belongings. According to the same leader, these families say: “What could be worse? Yes they can kill us but we will not leave Jesus even if we have to die.”

This video shows the Christian families in their burned fields. It has been muted for security reasons, as their names are mentioned in the audio.

Pray

Pray for these believers - that their livelihood would be provided for and that no further harm would come to them.

Pray also that their testimony and boldness would inspire others to follow Jesus.
