 In order for God's people to remain as a light in the darkness of persecution, individual Christians must be able to live and work in these environments. We help strengthen Christian communities so that they can continue to share the love of Christ and bring the gospel to their neighbors - over 206,500 individuals benefitted from Open Doors' development programs in 2008!
Have you ever selected a business to work with because you knew it was either owned by a Christian or managed by a Christian? Unfortunately, Christians working and living in areas of persecution face quite the opposite situation. 
Persecuted Christians are routinely fired from their jobs when they confess a new faith in Jesus Christ or they are discriminated against by not even being allowed to apply for a job.
For this reason Open Doors is committed to bringing tangible help to those who, while sharing our faith, are denied our freedoms.
As an example, in Muslim countries where Christian women are especially deprived of work opportunities, Open Doors brings hope in the form of vocational training and educational resources that enable these women to help their families survive in the midst of oppression. By learning these marketable job skills, these women not only bless their family, but their Christian community as well.
