For security reasons we do not publish numbers on results or goals per country in the Middle East or other Muslim areas. We can say that the number of leaders trained in 2006 more than doubled compared to 2005! Trained leadership is extremely important in an area of the world where problems are likely to increase year by year.
2006 was, in many ways, a difficult year for ministry in Muslim countries. The Danish cartoon controversy inflamed tensions and put added pressure on the church. In some areas immigration is a key challenge, as Christians flee violence, increasing oppression or because of economic pressure.
Despite the difficulties, we have continued to provide support across the Muslim world, from North Africa to the islands of Indonesia, which has the largest Muslim population of any nation.
